Right now I am rebuilding my website to reflect my new creative company- JACQART! For me, I love all things creative & working as a photographer is so fulfilling. I am heading into my fourth wedding season, but click Browse {above} to see more of my work in just the past two years. Sign up for the e-mail newsletter here for all the updates.

In lieu of blogging, recent photographs & updates are on the official Facebook page:

                                                          Otherwise, you will just see that I'm an obsessively creative, chocolate-loving, Starbucks-addicted, God-following, yoga-posing, twenty-something blondie & magazine junkie- doubling as a low-key, mellowed-out single mother....with a four-year old as a best friend.

Currently based in Michigan; frequenting So. Cal, Florida, & Colorado.

JACQART is having a makeover!!

We are currently designing a new website {www.jacqart.com} to display an incredible viewing experience for the JACQART portfolio. In the meantime, we are accepting select wedding commissions for the rest of 2010, and actively booking for 2011; Please Contact Us to book, or request more information.

without further adou :: wedding

I’ve been holding on to a good one. You may have noticed I’m not fully posting every wedding anymore, but this one has some classic images so I’m sharing a lot of favorites.  First of all, the bride Alaina looked so amazing and classic on her wedding day this summer in Bloomfield Hills.  I loved how she wore her hair; so beautiful and modern. Jon was so easy to photograph and I owe that all to getting to know each other at our fun engagement shoot in Chicago this past spring.

I broke a personal record shooting this wedding as far as the most images I’ve ever captured…maybe its due to the wonderful planning & details that Alaina put into their day. Everything was tied together with a monogram that she carried out through their blue & gold schemed wedding…even hand making all her great invitation packets. My favorite detail was the tall candlesticks draped with sparkling beads, and the candy bar is always a fun feature for cocktail hour. The party was nonstop, and a blast, with Jon & Alaina surrounded by their amazing and sweet family. Thank you to everyone who gave me such sweet compliments that day, to Darrell & Linda for including me in the post-wedding Sunday brunch, and also to Greg Croft for doing such a great job shooting for me. This was such a very special day & it is obvious that A & J are so very loved.

her name is ellay

Ellay. L.A. Leigh Ann. You will remember her from her faux-engagement shoot in Denver this April, but here she is, free in the field with her favorite lady, Dallas. By the way, this girl is officially taken now & planning her 2011 wedding with Jason. Its about time for a family wedding!!

her name is dallas

While I was visiting Colorado this summer I made a couple fine art images of the lovely Dallas, formerly known as Hollywood. She belongs to my cousin Leigh Ann, & it was great to photograph something a little different. This first one is my pick of the series…it reminds me |SO MUCH| of an art piece that Leigh painted/drew back in high school with similar composition and lines. Horses are so majestic and beautiful, they were one of my favorite animals growing up … probably because my cousins had a barn-ful. I will also be adding a lot of these images to my Jax|art  collection available for purchase.

fresh from texas

I’m back from the weekend in Texas, where I photographed Allison & Josh’s charming southern wedding in Houston. Here is just a glimpse …

the weekend, part two: port huron engagement

Here is a glimpse of Amy & Kyle from their |IN LOVE| photoshoot this weekend up in Port Huron, where I grew up. I love the lake, …and I can’t believe how much I took it for granted until moving further towards “the city” where the lakes, er, ponds are teeny tiny. Enjoy…because you won’t see this couple again until their wedding next summer…when we will all be much warmer. =)

the weekend, part one: Ann Arbor Wedding

Tom & Jennifer had an elegant & low-key wedding this weekend with beautiful spice-colored autumn accents. We all met up for portraits before their ceremony & dinner party at the West End Grill in Ann Arbor, which had such delicious several course meal. Since we did the photoshoot early, we not only grabbed the good light during their |FIRST GLANCE| but Jen & Tom even had time for a glass of wine together around the corner at Cafe Zola. They are such a special couple, who met while they were both working in Japan. It was one of those weddings where you could tell everything had finally fallen into place, and that they were so in love and ready for their lives together. I was nearly crying during their ceremony, and there was so much emotion and joy- especially since they were joining together as a new family with Tom’s two daughters. Like always, just a few of my favorites are featured below.

M+B= Countryside Wedding

Finally got around to blogging this one,..I think I was busy packing the day after their wedding for Colorado instead of blogging a sneak peek. Melisa & Bryan had a hot and humid summer wedding near Flint, Michigan…and I had so much fun shooting this one with my good friend Heather. Even though their wedding was in a Catholic Church, by using a lot of outdoor elements for their detail shots & portraits gave this wedding a country feel…which suits this down-to-earth couple perfectly.
